2016 Lincoln MKX will make big debut next year and mark the beginning of the new generation. Lincoln already presented Concept crossover, which showed us what to expect from the latest, 2016 MKX. Earlier on, Ford presented its plan to make a major sales boost of Lincoln’s models. The plan is to triple the sales up to 300,000 units per year, by 2020. In order to complete this goal it Ford will add two models to Lincoln’s model line-up, and, additionally, the replacement for the MKS. The realization of the mentioned plan will cost the Ford Company around $2.5 billion.

Changes will be made from top to bottom, where German manufacturer plans to change the platform, and switch to new lightweight MLB-evo architecture. New platform will bring better fuel economy, thanks to weight reduction as well as improved handling. New Q5 will also change the place of its production, and 2016 Audi Q5 will continue its production in San José Chiapa in Mexico, which will influence the production costs.

Lexus Division chief Jeff Bracken addressed this problem and said: “Third-row seating is the No. 1 issue we hear from dealers. We feel like we’re missing a 35,000-units-a-year opportunity. We’re working hard to rectify that.”

Delay of the generation switch is probably caused by intensity of changes that will happen for the upcoming model.
