Ford has of late been improving their latest transmission system. Some of their newer vehicles were to debut this new transmission system. The new 2018 Ford Explorer will probably use nine-speed automatic transmission. Where the engine is concerned, the 3.5 litre EcoBoost V6 is the engine that will most probably be the successor to the current 3.5 litre version with 6-speed transmission. 2018 Ford Explorer Exterior and Engine

The design of the 2018 Ford Explorer is significantly different from that of its predecessor. The new Ford Explorer will essentially be a complete revamp of the older version, with a new bumper and a new set of headlights as some of the new design features. The hood is also somewhat different, as is the grille. It is a complete facelift. At the back of the car, the taillights and the exhaust pipes are different. There are a few more notable changes to the pillars too. The inside of the 2018 Ford Explorer is also different with updated technology and much better comfort.

The 2018 Ford Explorer is front-biased and all-wheel-drive. It has an electronic centre coupling that is responsible for controlling the split of torque between the front and the rear wheels. This centre coupling is also a centre differential. The criterion off-road gadgets on the AWD models consist of a criterion “Terrain Management” system that alternates ESP and drive train features for a number of different situations, hill-ascent assist, hill-descent control, and four-wheel electronic traction control. Safety features consist of curtain and side airbags, twin front airbags, Roll Stability Control, Curve Control, and stability control.

Additional elective safety features consist of blind-spot checking and a cross-traffic warning system, inflatable rear-seatbelt airbags, and accident warning with pre-crash braking support. The 2018 Ford Explorer is a crossover between a road-biased structure and a uni-body structure. The 2018 Ford Explorer comes with the option of a turbocharged 3.5 litre V6 engine. Both versions of the engines use the very same six-speed manually controllable automatic transmission. The base model has front-wheel-drive while the others have all-wheel-drive all the time, without low-range gearing.

2018 Ford features of the interior include manual air-conditioning, cloth upholstery, CD/MP3 stereo, Ford SYNC with six speakers, three rows of seats, cruise control, keyless entry, power driver seat, common power options, adjustable steering wheel, and many more interesting features. Features that are available with the trim levels include push button start, intelligent access, three-zone auto air-conditioning, power lift gate, remote engine start, leather upholstery, power-adjustable seats, power-adjustable pedals and memory, heated and/or cooled front seats, 8-speaker stereo (or alternatively a 12-speaker Sony sound system), MyFord Touch, dual moon roof, Bluetooth, and power-folding third-row seats.

This vehicle would cost about $30,000 and is scheduled to be released sometime in the summer of 2018.
