2017 Lincoln Navigator Review

Even though some automobile companies hasn’t revealed their 2015 models, some are thinking in advance,and Lincoln is definitely the brand that belongs to the other group. The Navigator is one of the oldest models from this brand’s line-up, and Lincoln doesn’t plan to end its production any time soon. In fact, popular brand announced new generation of this SUV which will start with 2017 Lincoln Navigator. Upcoming model will have major upgrades, and here is what you can expect from it:

Current generation of the popular Navigator started back in 2007, and even though, Lincoln refreshed its Navigator a year ago, this long-lasting generation is coming to an end. The all-new restyled, remodeled, and redesigned Navigator will be launched for 2017 model year. According to latest info available, this changes will start from the bottom. New platform that will underpin the new Navi will be made out of aluminum which will significantly influence the weight of the vehicle. It is expected for 2017 Lincoln Navigator to be around 700 pounds lighter than its predecessor, since Ford’s F-150 model lost approximately that much, and the platforms will be almost the same.

Exterior changes will also include new design, which will be more than just front end refreshment which we saw in 2015 model. The body will be more sculpted and more aerodynamic that before. Inside, new Navigator will offer numerous improvement in both design and features. Upgrade technology and materials will be only part of the big redesign. The dash could receive some redesigning itself, but it is hard to give any precise info, since the Lincoln officials haven’t revealed any details regarding the redesign.

Changes under the hood of the 2017 Lincoln Navigator are still unclear. There are numerous presumptions about the engine line-up for the new model, but there are no confirmations from the Lincoln Company.  However, according to some reliable sources the V8 powertrain, which was left out for 2015 model year will not be returned. Instead, Lincoln could offer new hybrid drivetrain.

So far, the only certain option which will empower the 2017 Navigator is a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine. Transmission could be also changed, since there are some indications that Lincoln could pair 10-speed automatic transmission with the V6. This is still unofficial info, since GM and Ford are currently working on development of this version.

The 2017 Lincoln Navigator should appear on the market in mid-2016, while its sales should start around fall same year. The exact price is still unavailable. What is known is that it will be pricier than before, mainly thanks to extensive usage of pricey light-weighted materials. Current price tag of $62,000 could easily go up to $65,000 or more.
