2016 Opel Antara Price, Changes

An all-new version of Opel’s Antara, the 2016 Opel Antara, midsize SUV crossover is scheduled to be launched in the last quarter of 2015. Opel’s First generation of Antara SUV was introduced in 2006, as a successor to Opel’s Frontera , the European version of Isuzu’s MU. The Antara is based on GM’s midsize SUV crossover platform called Theta, one which it shares with Chevrolet Captiva. Antara has had only one major facelift in the last ten years when Opel decided to refresh both front and rear lights, the Opel badge on the exterior and better instrument graphics, lighting and console features for the interior.

2016 Opel Antara Design and Changes

The 2016 Opel Antara is expected to share most of its design features the Opel Mokka and the new Buick Envision, Buick being an American division of GM. The Antara is expected to keep all the standard features including driver assistance systems like adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, Hill Assistance System(HAS), adaptive forward lighting, grip on demand and Descent Control System(DCS). The additional safety features would include Twin front airbags, front seat side-impact airbags and full-size curtain airbags, forward collision alert, collision mitigation braking and rear cross-traffic alert. The media system should also cover standard features like Bluetooth, Radio and USB support.

Opel has made remarkable design overhauls to the Antara, and yet the more muscular curves are more friendly than aggressive. The head and rear lamps are clear and concisely crafted blur the lines between a family country wagon and a respectable compact SUV even though the balance is shifted to the latter through the the fog lamps and the front lights set high on a heavy face which suggests ruggedness and power. The interior of the Antera has retained the simple, sleek yet comfortable design lines of the exterior although the console and the dials adds a great deal of character and sophistication.
