The new 2016 Nissan X-Trail, a joint venture of Renault and Nissan which will take the name Rogue in North America is expected to feature only few changes from the current model. This is because previous models had already undergone many changes.

Motor pundits expect three trim levels i.e. S, SV and SL for the new 2016 Nissan X-trail. Nissan has used lightweight materials like aluminum to cut its weight compared to previous models. The new model will weigh about 1,500kgs with an improved fuel economy. Buyers will have an option to buy either the car with 17 inches wheels or 18 inches ones. Interior The interior of the 2016 Nissan X-trail has been slightly changed and will include a keyless entry with central locking system. It will feature more space and a panoramic view of glass roof. Actually, the base model will accommodate five passengers while the longer version will accommodate up to seven passengers. It will also feature a rear view camera, dual-zone automatic control system and a navigation system.

For entertainment and comfort of passengers, the manufacturer has installed a new entertainment system with a Bose powered audio system, air conditioning. To enhance its safety features, it comes with an improved cruise control, dual zone automatic climate control, blind spot detection, electronic-brake distribution and brake assist feature. The manufacturer has also added side-air bags to protect passengers in case of an accident.

The manufacturer is set to release 2016 Nissan X-trail in the second half of 2016. The price for the base model is not expected to change as there has been no major changes. The price for the current base model is at around $ 28,000. The fully equipped models are expected to cost as much as $ 50, 000 depending on the engine and trim level.

The base model will be charged by a 2.5L engine with 170 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque. The engine is enjoined with Xtronic CVT, it will have a 6 speed automatic transmission and won’t be offered with a manual transmission option. The base model will be a standard 2 wheel drive though customers will have an option for all wheel drive. Its fuel efficiency will also improve to 26mpg in a normal city drive, 33mpg in highway drive and a combined average of 28mpg. With the improved space and entertainment system, fuel economy, cruise control and security features among other features, the car is sure to rival others as the family car of choice.
