2016 Infiniti QX70

2016 Infiniti QX70 will be released on market completely redesigned. Since the last, second, generation started 7 year ago, back in 2008, and until now, it hasn’t received any significant alterations. Although it featured a facelift in 2011, Infiniti fans waited for a new generation to come out with 2015 model year, but that didn’t happen. Delay of the generation switch is probably caused by intensity of changes that will happen for the upcoming model.

2016 Infiniti QX70 changes and features

Infiniti brand is luxury division of the Japanese automaker Nissan, and it began with work back in 1989. The popularity and success came shortly after it presented its first model. However, current QX70 is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV which previously was named the Infiniti FX, until recently.

Changes that will follow the new generation reveal are somewhat already known. Shiro Nakamura, Nissan’s design boss spoke about some plans and alterations that are happening on the popular SUV. Since QX70 was criticized about its lack of interior space, this time engineers and designers found a solution for the problem and decided to offer 2016 Infiniti QX70 with more spacious inside than before.

However these practical solutions may disturb the ravishing design of the QX70, since its luxurious curves have to be sacrificed in order to provide compromise between stunning design and practicality and functionality of the vehicle. Some sources also indicated that 2016 Infiniti QX70 space will be broadened with additional inches instead of change in unique body shape.

Features are already taken to high level luxury, so we believe that in that department we cannot expect mind-blowing changes. List of standards, among others, will include 11-speaker Bose sound system, three-zone automatic climate control, fog lights, cruise control, a dash-mounted 7-inch info display and much more. However interior décor and styling could be enhanced with innovative solutions and highest quality materials.

2016 Infiniti QX70 engine range

Few things are known regarding the performance of this great vehicle. As you already know, V8 is dropped out from the engine line-up, and we believe it will be replaced with some more economical engine, in order to keep-up with its rivals. Currant engine should be carried over, as base.

So, expect 2016 Infiniti QX70 to come with a 3.7-liter V6 engine as standard. This engine produces 325 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque, and is paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. All-wheel drive will also be available as optional.

Average fuel economy of the previous model is around 19-20 mpg, but we believe that Infiniti will offer some more effective alternative, in order to attract more customers and to leave its competitors behind.

2016 Infiniti QX70 hybrid variant will probably be available also, and the engine that is mentioned in this version is 3.5-liter V6, which will be combined with an electric engine and provide 354 horsepower.

2016 Infiniti QX70 competition

Although is hard to confront the exterior of the 2016 Infiniti QX70 with any other SUV, its performances, fuel economy and features are comparable. Some of its closest rivals in this segment are Volkswagen Touareg, BMW X5, Porsche Cayenne as well as Volvo XC90 and Jeep Grand Cherokee.

2016 Infiniti QX70 price and release

Even though we expect some extensive changes, price shouldn’t feature such a big increase. 2016 Infiniti QX70 price should be around $46,000-$47,000, while its release could be expected late on 2015, or even early on 2016.
