2016 GMC Acadia Interior, Price, Release date

New model year will not bring any important change for Acadia SUV. In fact, changes will be minor, but will hint some important upcoming news. Just one model year after the reveal of the 2016 GMC Acadia, this model will go through major redesign, which will bring changes in several areas. This information about updates of Acadia and other GMC models planned for the upcoming years came from the General Motors itself. However here are some innovations that we can expect from the upcoming 2016 GMC Acadia:

Even though the major change will happen after the launch of this model, GMC will not make the customers wait so long for small innovations that make a big difference. Exterior changes will include few new colors of the model, and more importantly, new package of equipment that will be added in order to “preview” the changes coming with the 2017 model year. These details will influence the look of the Acadia but performance boosts and fuel economy improvement that will come after the weight reduction will have to wait for a new generation.

Inside, we can expect more features, including mainly upgraded technology and some optional features that could be available as standard. Trim levels will be carried over, and 2016 GMC Acadia, just like its predecessor, will be available in SLE-1, SLE-2, SLT-1, SLT-2 and Denali trim levels. Some of the equipment found on the base trim includes 18-inch wheels, backup camera, parking sensors, cruise control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a sound system with 6-speakers and 6.5-inch touchscreen display.

2016 GMC Acadia performance and mpg

Even though we might expect some new engines for the Acadia, it will not happen with this model year. In fact, GMC will continue with already proven power unit – a 3.6-liter V6. The output of the engine will also continue to be offered in two variants. First and standard version will deliver up to 281 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque. The Denali version will produce 288 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. It comes also with one transmission choice – 6-speed automatic.

As far as fuel economy is concerned, the rates are the same. This means that 2016 Acadia will return 17/24/19 mpg city/hwy combined with front drivetrain and same mileage in combined ride with all wheel drive, but a mile less in the city and on the highway.
