2016 Buick Encore Changes, Price

The 2016 Buick Encore is a small luxury crossover. It made its debut back in 2013. An unexpected smash hit for Buick, the Encore was successful in driving sales for the premium GM line and grabbing a substantial amount of the compact crossover/SUV segment market share. Supplying a quiet, enjoyable ride with an upscale cabin, fuel efficiency and available all-wheel drive, the Encore maintained the premium essence of the Buick brand at an affordable price.

2016 Buick Encore Changes

Though the 2016 Buick Encore will not be released until later this year, anticipation from automotive enthusiasts is already building. Since the Encore’s initial release back in 2011, there have been no major updates except for the addition of available blind-spot monitoring in 2014 and available OnStar 4G LTE with Wi-Fi hotspot capability in 2015. A complete redesign for the new model year has not been announced, so it’s safe to assume that the 2016 Buick Encore will be fairly comparable to its predecessors.

The current 2016 Buick Encore comes in four trim levels, all featuring the turbocharged 1.4-liter, four-cylinder engine and supplying an impressive 138 horsepower. The nimble Encore is powered by a smooth six-speed automatic transmission. In terms of drivetrain, front-wheel drive comes standard and supplies an EPA-estimated 33 hwy MPG. All-wheel drive is currently available for the Encore on all trims.
